Center light distribution for both wide and spot
The light source is COB (LED), which has an established reputation for uniform light distribution. The original design customizes the COB into a donut shape. The wide light source is placed on the donut, and the spot light LEDs are placed in the center of the emitting surface (the donut hole). Whether wide or spot lighting, the optical axis is on the center of the light-emitting surface, ensuring optimum lighting at all times.
What is the new 'COB'? |
---|
’COB’ is a type of LED. It is an abbreviation for ‘Chip on board’, and as the name suggests, multiple LED chips are placed directly on the board. Since multiple LED chips are arranged in a concentrated manner, high luminance is achieved. A large surface can also be illuminated evenly since the light is emitted from a surface. SEA&SEA is the first in Japan to lay out ‘COB’ in a donut shape. Even with wide light, shadows are less likely to form in the center, resulting in uniform light. |
Eliminate 'multi-shadowing'
COB eliminates ‘multi-shadows’ in both wide and spot lighting. The natural shadows bring out the subject clearly and sharply, making it an ideal light for imaging.
What is multi-shadow? |
---|
Shadows unique to LED lighting. When an object is illuminated by LED lighting composed of numerous LED light-emitting parts, unnatural multiple shadows are produced, different from those produced by sunlight. Multiple shadows can obscure the outline of an object and reduce its visibility. Single light source COB does not produce multiple shadows. |
Various light intensity adjustment functions
Light adjustment : 4-step light adjustment (25% increments)
For 4-step light adjustment, press the power/light adjustment button when the light is on. It circulates between 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% per press to change the light intensity according to the situation.
Useful flash sensor function for still image shooting
It is equipped with a ‘flash sensor function’ that senses the strobe light, automatically turns off the light, and turns it back on one second later. As the light turns off reacting to the strobe light, there is no need to worry about light being captured. A spot light is utilized as a focus light. The wide light can be used to look for subjects or check the environment without worrying about uneven exposure or color blurring.
Easy-to-handle compact body
A spot light source is laid out in the center of the donut-shaped wide light source, eliminating waste in the arrangement of light-emitting surfaces and enabling a minimized light head. With a compact size that fits in the palm of the hand and an underwater weight of only 163g, the body design fits comfortably in the hand, making it easy to use and maneuver.
Wide selection of attachment parts
Multiple attachments are packaged as included items for various purposes.
Gun grip, YS base, Ball base, GoPro base, etc. can be attached or replaced according to the situation.
It can be used not only as a handy light for fun diving but also as a light for imaging by attaching to housing or arm system to extend to diverse lighting.
Easy-to-read color LCD panel display
A variety of functions are displayed on a highly visible color LCD panel. The ‘light intensity’ and ‘remaining lighting time’, most important underwater, are largely displayed on the same easy-to-read screen. Light intensity can be adjusted by operating buttons while viewing the panel display.
Light intensity: Light intensity during lighting is displayed in 1% increments.
Remaining lighting time: Displays how many more minutes lighting is available in real-time.
Mode icons for function display
The function in use (mode) is indicated by a colored icon.
Spot: Turns on when using the spot light
Wide: Turns on when using wide light.
Battery: Flashes when switching over to safety mode.
FS mode: Turns on when using flash sensor mode
Remote control mode: Turns on when using the remote control
Four trouble-shooting functions
Safety Mode:
Battery indicator flashes. When the remaining battery becomes low, it automatically drops the light intensity to 20%. The display shows ‘10min’ and starts counting down.
High Temperature Protection Mode:
The display shows ‘HOT’ when the light head reaches 55°C (131°F) or higher during use, it automatically switches to protection mode and reduces the light intensity to 20% of its maximum.
Blinking Signal Mode:
The display shows ‘BLI’. It emits with blinking signal mode.
SOS Mode:
The display shows ‘SOS’. The light repeats [3 short blinks] ⇒ [3 long blinks] ⇒ [3 short blinks] ⇒ [OFF].
Battery charging is 2-way
Despite its compact body, the Li-ion battery has a large capacity of 3400 mAh and can be recharged in two ways.
1. Direct charging:
The battery can be charged directly by connecting the included dedicated rear charge plug to the charging connector terminal on the back of the body. As it is unnecessary to remove the battery from the body, there is no risk of submersion in water. No time and energy needed.
